TrèsNoctambule (Marla Fibish, Bruce Victor & Suzuki Cady) will share the night with the duo of Flynn Cohen & Paul Chaffee

TrèsNOCTAMBULE is MARLA FIBISH, BRUCE VICTOR and SUZUKI CADY.  They play traditional and original music in a variety of forms – traditional Irish tunes and songs, their own tunes written in traditional forms, and compelling musical settings of a broad array of poetry. This unique collaboration brings out qualities in these seasoned musicians that you may not have heard from them before.  The music is rendered with lush beauty, sensitivity and a good measure of humor on an unusual array of strings  -- various guitars in varied tunings, mandolin, mandola, 5-string violin, cittern, tenor guitar -- and three blended voices.

Marla and Bruce founded NOCTAMBULE in 2013 with the release of their debut CD together, Travel in the Shadows. Two more CDs followed — The Waking in 2015 and A Sweetish Tune in 2017.  Late in 2017 they started working with Suzuki, and TrèsNOCTAMBULE was born, expanding their sound with more varied string textures and rich three part harmonies.

In performance, TrèsNOCTAMBULE will take you on a journey.  Their love of traditional music will shine through their instruments, and they will wrap you in their beautifully crafted songs, bringing an unusual array of poetry to life with their music and their voices.

MARLA FIBISH is one of the prominent voices of the mandolin in Irish music. She brings a deep and distinctive sensibility to the music on one of its lesser heard instruments.  Her 2011 duo recording with Jimmy Crowley, The Morning Star, features all mandolin-family instruments, and she joins with San Francisco musicians Erin Shrader and Richard Mandel to form the energetic trio Three Mile Stone. Marla is also known for her compositions, musical settings of poetry and tunes that have been featured in these recordings and in her early work with vocal trio Out of the Rain. In addition to the mandolin, Marla brings mandola, tenor guitar, accordion, and her alto voice to the Noctambule sound. More at www.marlafibish.com.

BRUCE VICTOR is an eclectic and accomplished guitarist and composer, who plays several different guitars in several different tunings. Seemingly resisting any single musical genre, he has been labeled a 'poly-stylist’ by one of the editors of Acoustic Guitar magazine. He has played with The Sirens of San Francisco, The Triplicates, and as a solo performer. He was the founder of The Acoustic Vortex, a non-profit musical organization that produced house concerts, mentored youth performers, and performed benefit concerts for other non-profit organizations. He is also a practicing psychiatrist and was a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.

SUZUKI CADY began her singing career at age seven as a member of the Colorado Children's Chorale. At twelve, she was a member of a professional choir that toured China by invitation. She started playing the fiddle when she was nine, initially focusing on classical style. Ultimately, her attraction to Irish Traditional Music led her to study and play with top fiddle masters in the U.S. and Ireland. In addition to Irish fiddling, Suzuki plays a range of folk music styles, and is a skilled singer and accompanist. Her love of Irish and other traditional folk music has found outlets close to home in the San Francisco Bay Area, and as far away as Galway, Ennis, Dublin, and Paris. Artists and groups with whom she has collaborated include Noctambule, Kyle Alden, The Pure Drops, Sixpenny Money, Jose Neto, Cormac Gannon, The Karnak Players, and Tito.  Suzuki plays a remarkable five-string fiddle made by master luthier James Wimmer of Santa Barbara. If ever she had to flee a fire, that's the thing she would grab.  More at www.suzukicady.com.
