About the dancers:
Nicole Maria Hoffschneider Cao- Nicole Maria is a multi-award-winning belly dancer based out of Oakland, California. She has been studying, teaching, and performing contemporary and traditional forms of Middle Eastern dance since 2009. She teaches and performs as a solo dancer and in various Middle Eastern dance companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
At an early age, Nicole demonstrated a musical desire, leading her to study a variety of dance forms including ballet, contemporary, jazz, Latin dance and Persian dance, as well as folkloric and contemporary dances from North Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans.
She has studied and performed with some of the most well-known dancers in the tribal fusion bellydance genre as well as the cabaret and oriental bellydance world. Nicole is currently a co-director, choreographer, and soloist of the multiple dance companies in the Bay Area including Asheq Collective, Group Champions at the 2019 Bellydancer of the Year Competition. She is also a member of Shahrzad Dance Company (Persian dance) as well as Serpentine Society and Tsifteteli Delights (Contemporary Fusion). Nicole performs five nights a week throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Nicole received her B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and Archaeology with a minor in World Music from San Francisco State University. She has always been interested in the intersection of culture and dance and the study of dance in its sociocultural context. As a performer, she is interested in portraying both contemporary and traditional forms of Middle Eastern dance as well as dances from Turkey, Greece, and the Balkans. www.nicolemariadance.com
Heaven Mousalem- Heaven Mousalem is a Lebanese-American dancer who has dedicated her life to the beautiful art of Raqs Sharqi (bellydance). She is an in-demand performer and has entertained at hundreds of weddings, birthday parties, and all other happy occasions. Heaven continues to learn from the best artists in her field whenever given the opportunity. Recently she has been inspired by study with Sadie Marquardt, Lebanese Simon, and Camellia of Cairo. She strives to stay current with the dance in the Middle East and beyond, and seeks to create performances that leave audiences with a lasting appreciation of Middle Eastern dance. www.heavenbellydancer.com
Nathalie Tedrick- Nathalie Tedrick is a Northern California Bay Area native. She toured internationally for seven years with Miles Copeland's Bellydance Superstars and has performed and taught Belly Dance across the US, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Her dancing has been featured on PBS, BBC, ABC, national and international commercials and music videos. Nathalie was honored to perform with Thievery Corporation during their West coast tour in 2015.
